Location: The Pavilion at Ft. Getty in Jamestown (for directions see below)

Time: We have the Pavilion from 8 am to 4 pm

Paddles:
There will be both flat water and sea kayaking paddles leaving from Ft. Getty. Check the flat water and sea kayaking bulletin boards and calendars for details.

Food:
Catered southern barbecue from Beckyâs Barbecue in Middletown, RI. The meal includes barbecued chicken and pulled pork, a variety of sides, drinks, watermelon and desert. Vegetarian meals can be provided and kidâs meals are available. See the registration form.

Other Activities:
Fort Getty offers swimming and fishing. There is a volley ball net, just bring a ball. There is ample room for ball games, badminton, or most anything else. Organize an activity and bring the necessary equipment. Also, an ãOlympicä ICF Flat Water Racing Kayak will be available for any one to try and test their skills at staying vertical and dry.

Cost and Registration:
Adults $10, $5 for 12 and under.
All are welcome including members, their families including significant others, friends and relatives. Use the attached form.

Because this is a catered event we must let the caterer know the head count by July 10.
Your registration form and check must be in Charlie's hands before then or sooner.

When arriving at Ft. Getty you will need to stop at the guard station. Tell the guard you are attending the RICKA Picnic and they will admit you without charge

From 95 North Bound:
Take exit 3 to Route 138 East. Turn left at light where Route 138 East merges with Route 1. Take the Jamestown/Newport Bridge exit (Route 138 East). Follow Route 138 East to Jamestown via the Jamestown Bridge. Take Helm Street exit onto access road and go straight at the stop sign. Follow road out and take a right at the stop sign onto North Road. Go straight at 4 way intersection and follow road out past Mackerel Cove Beach. After the beach take first right onto Fort Getty Road and continue onto the gate house and check in.

From 95 South Bound:
Take Route 4 to Route 1. Take the Jamestown/Newport Bridge exit (Route 138 East). Follow Route 138 East to Jamestown via the Jamestown Bridge. Take Helm Street exit onto access road and go straight at the stop sign. Follow road out and take a right at the stop sign onto North Road. Go straight at 4 way intersection and follow road out past Mackerel Cove Beach. After the beach take first right onto Fort Getty Road and continue onto the gate house and check in.

From Newport:
Follow Route 138 West over the Newport Bridge. Take the Jamestown exit. Bear right at the yield sign and continue until stop sign. Turn left onto Conanicus Avenue and go straight at the intersection. Follow road approximately .5 miles and take a right onto Hamilton Avenue. Go straight at stop sign and follow road out past Mackerel Cove
